Lehigh County DMC Youth/ Law Enforcement Forum: Facilitator Training
The LehighCounty DMC Working Group will host a one-day training for facilitators of the DMC Youth-Law Enforcement Curriculum. Chief Deupty Paris Washington and Stoneleigh Fellow Rhonda McKitten of the PA DMC Youth/Law Enforcement Corporation will train facilitators to facilitate discussions and role play exercises between officer and youth particiaptns.

Lehigh DMC Youth/ Law Enforcement Curricuum Training
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
The Lehigh County DMC Working Group will host present the DMC Youth/Law Enforcement Curriculum to youth and officers in Lehigh County. The training will include sessions for officers focused on adolescent development, youth trauma and effective strategies for interacting with youth. Youth participants will learn about safe stops, police procedures and how to handle difficult interactions. Officers and Youth will participate in panel discussions and small group sessions that will allow them to honestly discuss interactions between law enforcement and youth in the community and to develop personal relationships.
